How to invest in silver as advantageously as possible? After gold, silver is another interesting metal that people buy, especially in uncertain times. We perceive the purchase of silver or gold for investment as a longer-term matter. It serves perfectly as a means of preserving value, which we are deprived of by rising inflation, or as a suitable alternative for security in retirement. Why focus on investing in silver?
Before you decide on your own investment in silver, consider other alternatives. Approach your own investment only when you are sure that it is a suitable commodity for you.
It is a precious metal whose price on world markets is growing, as it also offers the advantages of an item suitable for industrial use. However, buying silver for an investment that is guaranteed to appreciate may not be entirely easy.
Different weights of silver, collector’s editions issued in different periods, but also investment bars or coins can differ from each other in their value. Limited editions gain value over time, but it is better to seek the advice of an expert for their purchase.
What are the advantages of investing in silver?
Buying silver is advantageous for individuals because, unlike term deposits or building savings (stavební spoření), it is exempt from income tax.
Another indisputable advantage is the fact that you will become the holder of a completely anonymous and, moreover, relatively liquid investment. You also have the opportunity to freely choose the form in which you buy silver.
You can choose from silver investment bars, ingots, but also foreign investment coins, or commemorative coins of the Czech National Bank (CNB). There is also the alternative of not physically owning the silver.
Are investments in silver safe?

How is the price of silver determined?
Not everyone is a numismatist, but for investing in silver, it is useful to know at least roughly how the value of silver is determined. Its value is usually given in dollars per troy ounce.
The calculation of the silver price is determined by dividing the currently set silver price by a coefficient of 31.103. The obtained value (the price of silver per 1 g in US dollars) is then converted at the current daily exchange rate into our Czech crowns.
Saving in silver?
Just as it is possible to set up supplementary pension insurance (penzijní připojištění) or classic building savings (stavební spoření), it is also possible to arrange savings in gold or silver. The investor regularly sends the chosen amount and it is credited to their account.
At the moment when the value that can be exchanged for an investment coin or bar is credited to the account, the exchange takes place. Subsequently, the “new investment value” is sent to the investor’s address or, by agreement, stored in the vault of Česká mincovna.
All conditions of saving and possible storage of silver coins or bars are properly agreed in the contractual agreement. The customer has the opportunity to register with Jablonecká česká mincovna and thereby obtain other benefits. One of them is the priority right to new mintings of interesting coins with historical motifs.

How to invest in silver as advantageously as possible? In addition to the primary function of a store of value, investment silver also offers the opportunity to please the heart of every enthusiastic collector. Česká mincovna gradually issues silver coins with various motifs, the purchase value of which ranges from 990 CZK (about 45 USD) to several thousand.
Its offer also includes silver coins of the Czech National Bank (CNB) with values of 200 and 500 CZK (about 23 USD) with motifs from Czech history. Depending on purity and weight, their price ranges from 500 CZK (about 23 USD) to 1,050 CZK (about 48 USD). An exception is the coin with a value of 10,000 CZK (about 460 USD) with the motif of the Founding of Greater Prague with an approximate price of 37,000 CZK (about 1,700 USD).
You can also choose from silver investment foreign coins or silver medals. Silver medals are issued in limited editions, have a higher purchase price, but can also be purchased in instalments.
Buyback of silver
The buyback of bars, coins and collections is governed by the conditions of individual sellers. For the buyback of investment silver, it is necessary to meet the set conditions. Which ones are they?
The basic condition is that the investment product is completely undamaged. The bar or coin must not be mechanically or chemically damaged in any way (scratched or oxidised) and you must unconditionally provide the seller with a certificate of its authenticity.
If these conditions are met, the seller should buy back your investment. Companies that deal in the trade of investment gold and silver have detailed information regarding the buyback and prices of coins or bars in their terms and conditions or on their websites.
