Investing is the best way to protect your money from ever-increasing inflation. We do not always need to have a large sum of money available to dive deeper into the world of investment. In the following article, we will discuss what we can invest even small amounts of money in.
Investment plan
Before we start with any investing, we should first create an investment plan. We write down on paper what return we want to achieve, in what time horizon, and what risk we are willing to take. The general rule says that the more we are willing to risk, the more we can gain. We must not forget that we always play only with money that we can afford to lose.
The best investment is in our mind
Our mind is the most valuable thing that helps us succeed in the world of investment. Our brain is a bottomless well that thirsts for new information. It then looks for the best way to extract the most valuable things from this information.
The information we gain from books, courses and seminars can enrich us more than we think. The information obtained will open the door to how the world of investment and the power of money work. In practice, this can mean that a seminar that costs us 2,000 CZK (about 92 USD) can give us an idea for a business plan worth hundreds of thousands or millions. It can teach us a lot about how money works and how to learn to make our money make more money. Financial education is the foundation of every experienced investor. It is therefore only up to us what information we put into our minds.
Although financial education is one of the options for investing only small amounts, these investments can return to us in millions.
The best books on finance
We can buy all these books for a few hundred crowns, but the information we get from them is priceless.
- A Random Walk Down Wall Street (Burton Malkiel),
- Think and Grow Rich (Napoleon Hill),
- The Richest Man in Babylon (George S. Clason),
- Rich Dad Poor Dad (Robert T. Kiyosaki),
- The Intelligent Investor (Benjamin Graham),
- Stocks for the Long Run (Jeremy Siegel).

P2P and P2B investing
Another tip on where to invest small amounts is so-called P2P (peer-to-peer) or P2B (peer-to-business) loans. Who does not know the advert for Zonky? People lend to people. That is their slogan. This investment process consists of a strategy where non-bank companies intermediate loans between people. The investor provides funds to a verified platform, which then lends this money to the client in the form of loans. This is a good way of investing for everyone who is thinking about where to invest small amounts.
This model is beneficial for everyone. Investors can achieve a return on money of 4% to 15%. Platforms take a commission for intermediation. It is also advantageous for the end user, who pays less for the loan than at a bank.
The amount we can put into investing is not limited by anything. It therefore depends only on us how much money we put into the platform.
Platforms where we can invest small amounts
There is a whole range of platforms in which we can invest small amounts. Let us take a closer look at some of them.
Mintos
This popular platform is suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced investors. It was created in 2015 and is currently at the top of the most popular ones. Mintos is used by hundreds of thousands of investors from all over the world. The advantage is that investments start at just 10 euros per loan and opening an account is completely free. Mintos recommends investing at least 500 euros per year as the best strategy. For 90% of investors, this leads to earnings of at least 10% and more. We can reinvest the money obtained or withdraw it at any time.
Bondster
Right on the homepage, we can find a calculator that, after entering all parameters (the amount and investment period), calculates the average return on our investment. This is usually in the range of 10% to 14%. We can see the return in both crowns and euros, although it is higher in euros. The investment process is not complicated. A client applies for a loan, which they secure with a property, for example. As investors, we choose a loan to invest our money in. We can choose from leases, mortgages, consumer loans and others. We can set up an account online and we do not pay any entry fees.
Estate Guru
Estate Guru primarily focuses on the real estate market. It allows us, as investors, to earn by investing in real estate located in various European countries. For example, in Finland, Estonia, Germany and others. The investment calculator allows us to calculate the expected return. The minimum investment is 50 euros, the maximum is 25,000 euros. The investment period is 9 to 24 months. You can create an account online. The disadvantage is that the platform is not yet in the Czech language.
Cryptocurrencies
Another option where we can invest small amounts of money. Cryptocurrencies as an investment tool have been talked about more and more often recently. It is a digital (virtual) currency that uses a network of individual users’ computers for its production and payment transactions. It is therefore not a currency as such, but exists only as an entry in a computer’s memory.
Currently, the cryptocurrency market is experiencing a huge boom. Demand and volumes in cryptocurrencies are reaching record high levels. We have a large number of digital coins to choose from to invest in. In the last decade, there has even been discussion about this virtual currency being accepted into everyday life. More than one company allows its customers to pay in cryptocurrencies and even issues its own.
Investing in digital currency itself is not complicated. However, before we embark on the investment process, we will pay attention to where we store the cryptocurrency. The safest and simplest alternative is undoubtedly a cryptocurrency wallet. This is software (an application on a phone) where we store units of virtual currency.

Investing on an online exchange
If we have no experience with this type of trading, choosing an exchange may seem complicated. There are many players on the market. Therefore, it is important to choose according to several basic criteria.
- Exchange rate – we choose the exchange with the most advantageous one.
- Currency – a simpler and cheaper option is an exchange that allows exchange for Czech crowns.
- Fees – we pay these just like with any investing on an exchange, but their price varies.
- Identity – an exchange that does not require identity verification may be untrustworthy.
Trading on an online exchange is simple. First, we set up a user account online. We fill in personal data and scan an identity document. We transfer money from a current account to an investment account and we can buy. The whole process is simple and described in detail step by step. There may be a slight delay in verifying the identity document and transferring money between accounts. However, it will not take more than a few days.
